Wired for Wellness Founder

Hi, I'm Daria, the founder of Wired for Wellness.

About me

Over the course of my career, I have consistently demonstrated a resolute commitment to fostering positive impacts and catalysing transformative change within the realm of social work. Having earned a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work alongside a Bachelor of Arts with a specialisation in Sociology from Monash University in 2012, I boast a comprehensive academic background that profoundly informs my approach to social work practice. Driven by a fervent dedication to continuous learning, I furthered my education by obtaining a Master's degree in Culture, Health & Medicine from the Australian National University in 2014.

A notable achievement in my social work career was spearheading the inaugural implementation of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) in Western Melbourne. This pivotal initiative resulted in a substantial surge in accessibility to disability supports among Victorians, marking a transformative milestone for many who received such assistance for the first time in their lives.

Additionally, I played a leading role in establishing and opening the Youth Prevention and Recovery Care (YPARC) Centre in Parkville at Orygen Recovery, recognised as the largest PARC in the southern hemisphere, providing sub-acute mental health supports to young people, and professional development training to clinical and non-clinical staff.

At the core of my professional ethos lies the promotion of cultural competence and diversity, underscoring my deep-seated belief in the paramount importance of inclusivity and a nuanced understanding of diverse backgrounds.

My dedication to supporting vulnerable populations extends to individuals with disabilities, refugees and asylum seekers, culturally and linguistically diverse communities, the elderly, and those involved in the criminal justice system. I am passionate about building strong and resilient communities; a commitment reflected in my involvement in various not-for-profit organisations and government schemes aimed at fostering positive social change. I bring a wealth of experience, a passion for social justice, and a commitment to making a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and communities.
